From cradle to career to civic engagement, we had a full graduation season! Thank you to all SBCS friends and partners for your gifts of time, talents and treasures that supported our students and our families. We are building our future leaders together!
We celebrated our first group of college graduates. Our students completed their studies in four years and graduated from UC Santa Cruz, SDSU, and Berkley. More than 50 happy and giggling preschoolers from Mi Escuelita, a therapeutic preschool, and Escuelita del Futuro, are ready for their academic journey.
Ninety-four CVPromsie High School graduates became first-generation college students this fall. This makes it more than 300 of our young people in two and four-year colleges! Congrats to these schools – you have some great students ready to take on their studies and the college experience:
Stanford University, CSU Channel Islands, Humboldt State University, San Diego State University, CSU San Marcos, San Francisco State University, San Jose State University, UC Merced, UC Los Angeles, UC Berkeley, UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC San Diego, UC Santa Barbara, UC Riverside, Southwestern College, San Diego Mesa College, San Diego City College, Grossmont College.
We also celebated our 3rd group of graduating Resident Leaders. There is no stopping these leaders who are ready to make their communities a healthier place for all. Thank you to Assemblymember Lorena Gonzalez, Nick Macchione, Director of the County of San Diego HHSA, Barbara Jimenez, Director, Regional Operations, HHSA and Chula Vista Councilmember Mike Diaz for making the day extra special.
